In this 12-page no prep pack, we target Blank’s Level 4 language comprehension tasks.
Specifically, we ask students to think about situations and to explain why they happened based on their knowledge of the world and the information provided. This stimulates children to increase their knowledge of cause and effect relationships, problems and solutions, and supports students as they generate mental models of each scenario.
In this pack, we wrap the questions into a simple narrative format to make the task more cohesive and easier to understand in context. For each event, there are multiple logical answers, and no one “correct” answer – just like many events in the real world.

This 24-page no-prep resource is designed to help students develop their Theory of Mind and answer abstract questions at Blank’s Fourth Level of Questioning.
Each picture depicts at least two people or characters reacting differently to a situation, and includes questions designed to help students understand that different people like different things; and that people think about what other people are thinking. For each picture, we have also added some abstract questions at Blank’s Fourth Level of Questioning.
This allows us to work on theory of mind and verbal reasoning at the same time.
