In this reading exercise, students read many words containing <ee> or <ea> (e.g. “week” and “weak”). For efficiency and engagement, we find it best to work on extended code targets like <ee> and <ea> while also working on reading fluency (accuracy, speed and expression) with sentences and short passages.

This reading workout is about a very demanding customer who wants to buy a cheap Jeep. His demands are many, and often unreasonable, but are intended to amuse students and motivate them to read the passage.

This no-prep exercise can be used for:
