In this 46-page no-prep pack, we target Blank’s Level 4 comprehension tasks. Specifically, we ask students to think about common scenarios and to explain what will happen based on their knowledge of the world.
In each exercise, the second box has been left blank to give students an opportunity to draw and/or write a response.

In this 44-page no prep pack, we target Blank’s Level 4 language comprehension tasks. Specifically, we ask students to think about common scenarios and draw inferences to explain specific predictions about the future based on their knowledge of the world and the information provided.
This stimulates children to increase their knowledge of cause and effect relationships, problems and solutions, and supports students as they generate mental models of each scenario.
Some of these exercises require children to put themselves in the shoes of other people, and to draw local inferences by analogy with their own experiences of the world.

In this 51-page no-prep pack, we target Blank’s Level 4 language comprehension tasks. Specifically, we ask students to think about common things that might happen to them and to express what they would do in such situations.
This stimulates children to identify and solve problems and supports students as they generate mental models of each scenario. Some of these exercises require children to reflect on their existing knowledge of the world and to generate options.
The focus should be on what the student could do, rather than simply asking someone to help them. For an added challenge, ask the student to name more than one thing they could do in each situation.

In this 16-page no-prep pack, we target Blank’s Level 4 language comprehension tasks.
Specifically, we ask students to look at a picture and draw inferences that explain why a certain proposition is true. This requires students to generate mental models of each scenario, to then reflect on their existing knowledge of the world, and to then explain why the statement given to them is true. This can be used as an oral language task, or as a written task.
Some of the exercises require students to look for clues, e.g. facial expressions, and to demonstrate a theory of mind, to answer the questions correctly. To make the exercise more challenging, ask the student to explain why the statement is true (requiring the student to generate a logical explanation) and/or to explain what happened immediately before or after the picture.

In this 17-page no-prep pack, we target Blank’s Level 4 language comprehension tasks. Specifically, we ask students to think about and explain why certain things can’t happen.
This requires students to generate mental models of each scenario, to reflect on their existing knowledge of the world, and to then explain why the subject can’t do the action required, e.g. by reference to an attribute like function, parts, or location.
This can be used as an oral language task, or as a written task. Negative questions are often very difficult for students learning English as a second language, and students with language or other learning disorders.
